Rocks

Rocks are combinations of organic (living) or inorganic (non-living) minerals.

Rocks can be made up of just a single mineral but are usually composed of a number of different minerals .

There are three main types of rock:

Sedimentary rocks such as coal often include fossils, which are the remains or outlines of living organisms that were buried by natural processes and preserved as a result.
